Move Apps From One Mac To Another

broken image

I have an iMac with SSD and traditional hard drive. Now the SSD are getting full and I want to move stuff to the traditional hard drive since this i much larger. I have already moved iTunes library.

How can I move applications from the SSD drive to the traditional hard drive ? Eg. I have a photoshop application of about 2,5 gb which would be nice to have on the traditional drive rather than SSD since I don´t use it much.

Should I be careful when moving applications or is it safe ?

Thanks a lot for any input.

Jun 10, 2014  Perhaps the hardest thing to figure out when trying to move an app and its settings to another Mac is to find the application’s preferences, which are usually located in the Preferences folder. Jul 23, 2017  Mac’s come with an integrated migration assistant. The Migration Assistant, lets you take a hold of your old applications, files and documents, and move them to your new Mac. You can even migrate your system settings as well. Migrating your apps and files from one Mac to another using the migration assistant is the best thing. The apps I downloaded all appear on my user/profile and there is very little on my son's or my husband's (not even all of the pre-loaded ones, it would appear). Do I need to download them all again for each user/profile or is there a way of making them show up? One of them (a Flight Simulator game exclusively for my son) was a paid-for app.
